Here we have the end result of my Illustrator project. We created a magazine-style layout (except in landscape [which I think is stupid]). I started with a somewhat different concept including a photo of a friend, but then I rearranged it to focus on the vector work and phone model.
Made in Photoshop and Illustrator CS3.

This is my first project for Advanced Computer Graphics and it was definitely the toughest up to this point. Our assignment was to photo-realistically recreate a mechanical object, in my case, my Nokia 6263 (it’s the nicest thing I own.) Only it had to be done entirely in Illustrator. Not only is this extremely difficult, but tedious as hell. This was exacerbated by the fact that we had only a week to learn the techniques and execute them. I was getting very frustrated since it wasn’t coming along as quick as I’d hoped (I need instant gratification); but I think it came together pretty well in the end.
I’m also including a sheet that shows my progress. As you can see, it’s just a matter of getting the right shapes and playing around with gradients.
